The pigment
Indigo is the seventh colour of the rainbow and is usually obtained by mixing blue and black pigments, adding a brown tint to the vivid red of madder. In Africa, Yoruba women use its blue hues to dye their adire fabrics. It is renowned for its revitalizing qualities.
